Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role
Based in the School of Nursing, you will be part of the College of Health professional administration team. The Student Placement Coordinator role is responsible for the co-ordination, negotiation and securing of ākonga (learner) practice/placement experiences within our nursing programmes. You will work in collaboration with nursing academic Kaiako, building, fostering and nurturing relationships with nurses and health organisations throughout the Otago region, promoting our organisation, our values and our ākonga.

Our preferred candidate will be highly organised, detail-focused, pro-active and committed coordinator who has highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills. You will have outstanding relationship-building skills which are customer-centred and you will feel comfortable fostering and maintaining relationships with health professionals and other stakeholders.
The successful applicant will have positive and productive team attitude including the drive to be a highly functioning member of our team.
Excellent skills in word processing, and competency with spreadsheet and database use is essential, as are multitasking skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage time effectively along with an active commitment to ensuring that timely services of the highest quality are consistently provided.
You will have a relevant qualification at diploma level or equivalent experience.
An understanding of cultural diversity and the ability to work with a variety of customers is preferred along with familiarity with the tertiary education sector.
