Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role
Te Kura Whakaora Ngangahau | The School of Occupational Therapy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced, passionate and motivated educator who will create an outstanding learning experience for ākonga (learner) within the Bachelor of Occupational therapy.
Based in Ōtepoti | Dunedin, your role will be to research, develop and deliver content in our School. You will draw on your experience working as an occupational therapist | kaiwhakaora ngangahau, which will contribute to the education of ākonga in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
As a kaimahi you will be responsible for developing and providing current and innovative blended learning opportunities within the context of our learning environment and the learning needs or our ākonga.
The role includes:
Ø preparing and delivering content for assigned courses within the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
Ø using a range of approaches to ensure ākonga are engaged within their learning creating outstanding learning experiences
Ø work with colleagues to plan, develop and contribute to the review of courses to ensure they meet learning needs and occupational therapy industry requirements.
Ø provide pastoral support to our ākonga as needed.

Key to your success in this role will be your motivation and desire to be part of the development of future kaiwhakaora ngangahau | occupational therapists to practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We are looking for someone who:
Ø has clinical occupational therapy practice experience with a preference in neurological rehabilitation
Ø has NZ registration as an occupational therapist with a current annual practicing certificate
Ø is effective in their knowledge and practice on how kawa whakaruruhau | cultural safety can be demonstrated as a kaiwhakaora ngangahau | occupational therapist in an Aotearoa New Zealand context
Ø is committed to help ākonga learn, with an appreciation of and understanding of diverse learning needs
Ø will be an effective Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner, by your knowledge of Te Ao Māori, and supporting the values and tikaka of mana whenua throughout your mahi
Ø possesses excellent communication skills with a natural ability to engage and build relationships
Ø holds a postgraduate qualification would be an advantage or would be willing to work towards one
Ø has experience in research would be an advantage
Ø has a tertiary teaching qualification or a willingness to undertake training in this area
Ø has good computer literacy and ability to use full suite of Microsoft products (particularly Word, Excel and SharePoint/Teams).
