Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic organiser to help us with the recruitment of ākonga (learners) to Otago Polytechnic through the planning, co-ordination and delivery of a variety of events. These include learner events (inhouse and out in the community), large-scale recruitment days, career expos, and taster days to attract prospective learners. These events showcase Otago Polytechnic to the world, so they are key to our marketing activity.
The Events and Operations Co-ordinator will also support our in-house marketing team by coordinating the workflow involved in producing marketing materials.
Every day is different in this role. You'll play a key part in the team by delivering timely, efficient, and professional support across marketing and event activities. You'll also help keep the team running smoothly by managing operational tasks such as process coordination, planning, travel bookings, merchandise, budget support, reporting, and more.
You’ll enjoy being the central point of contact in the team, using your initiative and experience to help things run smoothly and keep the team working efficiently. Highly organised and process-driven, you’ll confidently juggle competing priorities, support the team to produce marketing materials, and deliver great service to internal clients. You’ll also build strong relationships across Otago Polytechnic to ensure marketing workflow is coordinated and delivered on time.

The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Marketing or Business and have demonstrable events/administration/co-ordination experience.
Key to your success in this role will be your ability to hit the ground running in a high-performing, close-knit team environment, you will be a super reliable team player that loves organising and isn’t afraid to pitch in and share your ideas.
You will have the ability to multi-task, work confidently, and show initiative under pressure, working both individually and as part of a team, where we like to work hard and have fun along the way.
